Features of 925 Sterling Silver:

925 Sterling silver, comprises 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals such as nickel, copper, and zinc.  This ensures that the exceptional quality of the noble metal is preserved, thus giving greater durability to pieces, particularly jewellery, even when used frequently.

  • It is water-resistant
  • It's naturally hypoallergenic, making it a safe choice for people with sensitive skin or allergies to other metals.

For greater durability of the pieces, they must be stored in a clean, dry, ventilated place and away from excessive exposure to the sun and humidity.

However, it is important to note that 925 silver can darken due to the natural oxidation process. This chemical reaction happens when the metal comes into contact with certain substances.

To avoid:

  • Contact with abrasive products
  • Cleaning products, detergents, perfumes
  • Products that contain alcohol in their composition can damage the silver and cause Zirconia stones to detach.
  • Sea water or chlorine is present in swimming pools

About Stones:

Zirconia:

A cubic zirconia is an artificial stone often used as an alternative to diamond. This laboratory-made stone is cut in the same way as a diamond, thus obtaining a similarity in terms of shine and clarity, and can be produced in a wide range of colours, but zirconia is easily scratched, and less durable than diamond or moissanite.

Moissanite:

Moissanite is a silicon carbide stone.  It can be found in nature (extremely rare) or made in the laboratory in a variety of colours.  It is identical to a diamond to the naked eye, quite durable, and cheaper than a diamond, although it is often easily confused with real diamonds, and for that reason an excellent option for someone who looks for durable and sparkly jewellery.

Maintenance:

Zirconia and moissanite stones can be cleaned with a soft brush, warm water, neutral soap or mild detergent. They must be cleaned gently to remove accumulated dirt and avoid scratches on the surface of the stone or metal. Then, they should be wiped with a clean and soft cloth.
